Rebekah A. Barney is a real estate developer with more than 20 years of experience in residential and commercial development.
Her previous developments include the $190 Million historic renovation of Colt Gateway in Hartford, CT, as well as securing National Historic Landmark status for the site, and more than 20 developments in The Bronx, NY. She has developed 60% of the existing high-rises on the Caloosahatchee waterfront in historic Downtown Fort Myers; most recently, a $90 million 322-unit rental community and a $140 million 220-unit luxury high-rise condo community.
Her expertise also includes historic preservation and restoration, economic development, business development, urban revitalization, marketing and public relations, financial analysis, and economic modeling.
Rebekah takes an active role in her community, and is currently serving as Board Secretary for the Lee County Pace Center for Girls, as well as Co-Chair for Pace’s “Believing in Girls” (BIGS). She also serves on the 2022 Hope Hospice SHINE Committee, and is the Chair of the SWFL American Heart Association’s 2023 “Heart Ball” and “Go Red for Women.”
Previously, she has served on the New York City Regional Economic Development Council (2011), as Chairwoman of the Connecticut Governor’s Small Business Advisory Council (2007-2011), the Connecticut Trust for Historic Preservation Board (2007-2010), and the Coltsville National Historic Landmark Advisory Board (2005-2009).
In 2022, Rebekah was named among the top “100 Women to KNOW Across America,” a national award honoring women entrepreneurs that inspire and give back to their communities.
Rebekah received a B.A. in Mass Media Communications with a Minor in Economics from the University of North Carolina in Charlotte. An accomplished ballroom competitor and lifelong athlete, she loves to dance and plays a variety of sports, including volleyball, for which she was named Division I Academic Athlete of the Year while in college, as well as tennis. She resides in Fort Myers with her husband and partner, Jeff, and their children.
As Alzada Vice President, Jeff is responsible for researching and finding new business opportunities and projects, as well as directing sales for all Alzada developments, including The Irving Downtown – a luxury mid-rise pet-friendly rental community in Downtown Fort Myers’ historic River District.
After several years in sales and marketing, Jeff became a licensed Florida Realtor (R), and has worked in real estate and real estate development since 2012, cultivating valuable expertise and knowledge in both commercial and residential real estate and the unique and ever-evolving Southwest Florida market.
Jeff has served as Vice President and Director of Marketing & Sales for a variety of developments in Southwest Florida, including a $90 million 322-unit senior living community and a $140 million two-tower 220-unit luxury high-rise condominium, both located in Downtown Fort Myers on the shores of the Caloosahatchee. His experience in both domestic and international sales ranges from single-family homes to multi-unit bulk investment deals to navigating the U.S. government’s complicated EB-5 visa program for qualifying immigrant investors pursuing citizenship in the United States.
Originally from Milford, Connecticut and a graduate of Johnson State College in Vermont, Jeff relocated to Florida more than a decade ago, ultimately settling in beautiful Fort Myers.
A lifelong music lover and avid athlete, Jeff enjoys playing the guitar and many different kinds of sports and outdoor activities, including ice hockey, tennis, and golf. He resides in Fort Myers with his wife and partner, Rebekah, and their three young children.
Specializing in green development standards and eco-friendly construction, Ryan is a LEED (R) (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Accredited Professional with a B.S. in Building Construction from the University of Florida. He has more than 16 years of experience in Preconstruction and Project Management throughout Southwest Florida and beyond, including Atlanta and Nashville, with projects ranging from custom private residences to high-rise condos and office towers.
Beginning his career as an intern constructing the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta, a $200 million entertainment complex, his major projects have since included – The Pinnacle at Symphony Place, a $100 million 32-story commercial office building in Nashville, TN; Chandler Park Apartments, a $21 million 320-unit multi-family complex in Owensboro, KY; Naples Square III, a $35 million 77-unit mid-rise condominium in Naples, FL; and Marina Bay 880, a $55 million 87-unit mid-rise condominium in Clearwater, FL.
Ryan previously served as a board member on the Associated General Contractors of Tennessee’s Construction Leadership Council (2009, 2013) and, prior to joining Alzada, was a Senior Preconstruction Manager with the award-winning construction company DeAngelis Diamond, headquartered in Naples.
Born and raised in Gainesville, Florida, Ryan’s faith and family are the cornerstones of his life outside the office. Whenever possible, he likes to be out with his family exploring and enjoying Southwest Florida’s breathtaking natural beauty and exceptional fishing. He resides in Naples with his wife of 15 years, Stephany, and their three children – Scarlett, Caroline, and Thomas.
As marketing director, Jane is responsible for conceptualizing and creating all branding, marketing and communications for Alzada and its debut development, The Irving Downtown, a luxury mid-rise rental community coming soon to the corner of Lee Street and Bay Street in Downtown Fort Myers, Fla.
With 15 years of professional writing and graphic design experience and more than a decade in branding, web design and marketing, Jane’s expertise encompasses a spectrum of traditional and new media, from newspapers and TV ads to the vast, varied and ever-changing digital landscape of web, social, search engine, mobile and email marketing.
After receiving a B.A. in English from Ohio State, Jane relocated to Southwest Florida and was hired into a weekly newspaper group on Sanibel and Captiva, where she quickly rose from staff reporter and layout artist to editor, and received a “Best Feature” award from the Florida Press Association (2010). In 2011 she began her branding and marketing career, and has since crafted content and strategy across many industries, including art galleries and artists, high-end boutiques, skincare and cosmetics, luxury salons and spas, Realtors®, and various Southwest Florida small business owners.
Since 2017, when she first joined Barney’s team as a marketing coordinator, Jane’s focus has been real estate development, including a $90M luxury 55+ high-rise rental community and a $140M luxury high-rise two-tower condominium, both located on the Downtown Fort Myers waterfront.
Although Jane grew up in Central Ohio, she has been visiting family and vacationing in Southwest Florida her entire life, and finally made the move to Fort Myers in August 2007. She now resides in Cape Coral with her husband.
